Reforming Victoria’s Animal Protection Laws

Submission writing workshop

Your voice can help shape the future of animal protection legislation in Victoria!

The Victorian government is in the final stages of reviewing the state’s animal protection legislation. They’ve published a draft Animal Care and Protection Bill to replace the current Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986 and it’s open for feedback until 25 March – this is the last opportunity to provide feedback.

The government has already pulled back on some key elements proposed in their initial consultation that would have offered better protection for animals – we’re working hard to ensure that they don’t backtrack any further. But we need your help to show them just how much Victorians care about animal welfare and support legislative reform.

Watch the recording of the Alliance For Animal's submission writing workshop. Alliance co-founders, Dr Jed Goodfellow and Dr Bidda Jones AM, explain the main aspects of the draft bill and the simple steps involved in creating and lodging your own personalised submission.
