Thank the WA Government for legislating an end to battery cages

The Western Australian Government was the first state to legislate the battery cage phase out.

Australians care about animals and except them to be treated with compassion. We want a future where every hen can spread her wings, walk freely, and lay her eggs in a nest.

But this is not the reality for nearly 1 in 3 hens across Australia. A powerful new global investigation has uncovered harrowing footage of hens trapped in battery cages, reviving the call to end the cage age for hens.

In 2024, the Western Australian Government legislated the nationally agreed phase out of battery cages – giving the industry a clear timeline to end this cruel practice.

Let's show our appreciation for this progress. Use our simple tool to send a thank you message to WA Agriculture Minister Jackie Jarvis. Just enter your details, personalise your message, and hit send.
