It’s time for Labor to deliver an Independent Office of Animal Welfare in NSW

Before the 2023 NSW election, Labor promised to create a new Independent Office of Animal Welfare. More than three years later, that commitment is yet to be delivered.
An Independent Office of Animal Welfare is a critical reform that could transform how animal welfare decisions are made in NSW.
The Government has since reaffirmed that commitment and said the Independent Office of Animal Welfare will be established this term.
However, with limited parliamentary sitting days left, Labor MPs only have until the end of November to help ensure the Government delivers the reform it promised.
Write to your local state MP* today and ask them to advocate for an Independent Office of Animal Welfare to be established in legislation without further delay.
