Be a voice for Australian chickens

Every year, over 700 million chickens are raised for meat in Australia, with most suffering as a result of their rapid growth rate, overcrowded living conditions, and outdated slaughter practices.

Take the pledge to support the Better Chicken Commitment and show food businesses and the chicken industry that Australians want higher welfare standards for chickens.

Most Australians care about farmed animals and would be shocked to learn about the current poor welfare standards for chickens.

Despite growing demand for higher welfare standards, the industry has not improved its standards.

That’s why we need to raise our voices to show food businesses and the chicken industry that we want them to do better.

The Better Chicken Commitment calls for:

  • Switching to higher welfare chicken breeds (who grow at a healthier speed)

  • More space and light, and improved living conditions

  • More humane slaughter methods.
